IOA actively participated to the Conference “Asthma, Allergy and COPD 2006 (COPD: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) – from the Science to the Daily Practice” organized in Prague (10-13 May) by the European Federation of Allergy and Airways Diseases Patients Associations (EFA) and the Czech Initiative for Asthma (CIPA).
The conference explored best practice, strategies and barriers,
both from the patient and health care professional perspective,
from national to international levels. During the Opening Ceremony
the Czech section of The UCB Institute of Allergy offered to the
audience an exhibition by the young allergic patients group
“Whistling for Health” which is a Czech Institute’s project
promoting flute-playing as a useful and effective means of
respiratory therapy for allergic and asthmatic children.
The scientific and practical information made available by the UCB
Institute of Allergy to the participants, patients and health
professionals, during the congress was highly appreciated. The
demonstration to the participants of the advantages offered by the
UCB Institute’s website (all publications available and printable,
up-to-date allergy information and practical advices) was
particularly appreciated.
