Basically, the mechanism causing anaphylaxis is similar to that
underlying other allergic diseases (to see a detailed description
of these mechanisms visit the section “what is
allergy”)
However, unlike in other allergic diseases in which the symptoms
are usually confined to only one organ (usually the one that is in
direct contact with the allergen), in anaphylaxis the allergen
triggers an allergic response in several organs in the same time
(or in a very rapid succession). Therefore the anaphylactic
reaction is more dramatic than the other allergic diseases.
