Basophil or Polymorphonuclear Basophil: "leukocyte" characterized by large granulations (grains) which have a pronounced affinity for basic dyes (high pH). They contain histamine and many other mediators of allergy (such as mast cells).
Betulacea: a family of plants and shrubs (petaless flowers) with seeds grouped in catkins and deciduous leaves. A few examples: birch, alder, hornbeam, hazel tree and almond tree.
Bronchodilator: a medicinal product with the property of being able to dilate the bronchi thus increasing bronchial diameter. Used in particular in the treatment of asthma.
Bronchospasm: spasmodic contraction of the
bronchi which results in a temporary narrowing of the
bronchial diameter and thus respiratory impairment. It is one of
the symptoms of bronchial asthma.
